I was searching for a cheap UPS which can handle my computer system, I have searched Electroncis Market Saddar Karachi and found most of low quality poor performance UPS that can operate a computer costs around 7 to 12 thousand (4+4 UPS).
After viewing market situation I have decided to make a UPS by my own with following objectives
1. UPS will be cheap in cost.
2. Can Operate a Computer efficiently without restarting it.
3. There must be something different as compare to other available UPS in market.
4. Provide long backup so it can run on a small battery and can give longer backup.
5. Must be smaller in size and easy to handle.
With having all above mentioned objectives I have purchased a 4+4 Transformer from Adam Electronics (Co-Operative Market Saddar Karachi) along with MOSFET Transistors circuit and a IC based circuit which is specially designed for computers.
Total Cost of Project.
Body : 350/=
Body Parts and Cables /Connectors etc.. : 350/=

MOSFET based circuit with heat skins : 550/=
IC Based Circuit Specially Designed for Computers 650/=

Now lets compare my UPS with other available UPS in market.
Other UPS: Displays a old analog volt meter.
My: Displays Nokia style battery charging display along with Nokia Style battery bar meter.
Other: 4+4 UPS are bulky , larger in size with poor quality winded transformer and non IC Based circuits that restarts computers.
My: Packed in most small available box in market, having power rating of 1000VA, equipped with IC based circuit that wont restarts your computer.
Other: Uses BJT power transistors for power output and Diodes for charging.
My: Based on advanced MOSFET transistors so no need of conventional BJT transistors and diodes that reduces the size of my UPS.
Other: Cost of UPS that can run a computer without restarting it starts from 7000 and can get an average UPS nearly 12000
My: As I have made it by myself thatswhy cost is reduced I have made complete UPS for Computer under 4500/= (Actual cost is 4300/=)
Other: Due to poor power transformer it utilizes high battery current during operation. Total loss over a fully charged battery is 4.8 to 6 Ampares
My: Due to 100% pure copper transformer winded with proper core it minimizes the losses (Total loss over full battery is 3A)
Other: UPS damages if load exceeds
My: Automatic load sensor, with automatic short circuit protection, UPS switches off automatically in case of short circuit and battery overload. It also beeps and LED flashes when overload / short circuit occurs.
This UPS can operate following at-once easily on a 100A Battery for upto 2.5 to 3 hours easily:
1. One CPU.
2. One LCD Screen.
3. One Ceiling Fan.
4. Two Energy Savers.
5. One Scanner
6. One Printer
7. One TV Device
8. Mini Speakers

Interesting… I also want to purchase this type of UPS. I cant understand that you altered UPS or purchased. very economical..
I have purchased individual parts and circuits, and built it by myself, I have altered circuit for short circuit protection and configure it to work as per my needs.
