        First of all check the faces of these bodies (they don’t look like chinese, tibbet or thiland), how can you say that these are not Burma’s Muslims? You wanted to say that there is no killing in Burma, its just a man made scenario? Its very sad that you are just putting the same pictures with manipulation and connecting it to some other events and trying to hide killing and massacre of innocent Burma Muslims. Why are you doing all this drams?

          I don’t understand why Muslims around the world believe that Muslims are being killed in Burma. I want to explain you the real situation. It was happened in June. The illegal immigrants from Bangladesh(t) began attacking the native peoples. They killed people, burnt the houses, even monastery and schools. later the military kept the situation calm. There was damage for both sides. Around 80 people from each side dead. Thousands of Burmese people are homeless and now staying in refugee camps. Also there is refugee camps for Bengali. Those people create this problem and now they are cheating the world as they are poor Rohingya. They want Muslims all over the world to be in their side. Please think before you believe those media manipulation. All we need in Burma is the rule of law, especially compliance of immigration law.

          You are asking how he can say that these are not Burma’s Muslims. Very simple answer:

          For any questionable picture in any context on the internet, you might want to run a picture comparison search on Google.
          In many cases, this will give you a good idea about WHEN a picture was first published (e.g. years before the current killings in Myanmar), and possibly in which original context.

          You may also find related pictures from the same incident but taken from different angles that reveal more detailed information to you. Doing that will help you to judge pictures for yourself.

          Fakes like these are constantly being done by all sides. And there are many people who are just willing to believe them to be true and keep on spreading them because it just fits their world views.

          I can only applaude the author on taking a stand against this spread of stupidity.

          Second: “You wanted to say that there is no killing in Burma [..]?” No, he does not say that. Read again to understand what this article is about, and why you are making a fool out of yourself in the second part of your posting.

          Thanks Faraz for your efforts. This really highlights the ongoing fallacies over the world-wide media and also throws the credibility of any electronic media over the internet on doubt. Pictures can be manipulated or simply miscaptioned to give even an opposite impression, and the social medias just fuels the wildfire spread of false information.

          I am a Buddhist Burmese who was born and raised in Myanmar (Burma). As much as I have been in touch with the local media and international media alike, I am quite amazed at how many video links posted here in comments over the “ethnic cleansing” going on in Burma.

          First, let me clarify the situation in brief. This conflict was between the Rohingya Muslims and the local Buddhist Burmese citizens, both residing in Arakan State. It is NOT a religious war between the whole Muslim community in Burma and the Buddhist government as it is spreading to the world’s media!

          Rohingyas are in fact illegal immigrants into Arakan State of Burma from Bangladesh, which borders Burma on the west. Rohingyas mass-moved into Burma during British rule, but the governments over the time have rejected citizenship to them and confined them to border cities in west Arakan, where a reported 800k Rohingya population resides. Population explosion, discrimination and repression by government have made Rohingyas to wait for an opportunity to rise up and to invade more of Arakan cities for living space.

          They got the spark they needed on June 4, 2012 when 10 Rohingyas were lawlessly murdered by local Arakanese furious over the rape and murder of an Arakanese girl by Rohingyas which happened 6 days earlier. Rohingyas started raging Arakan villages, robbing properties and torching villages, forcing tens of thousands of locals to refugee camps. The government army and security forces intervened, clashing with the rioting Rohingyas. A state of emergency and a curfew were issued on following days, with armed forces firing shots usually into the air to disperse the rioters, according to non-government reputable medias. The situation was subsequently calmed by mid-June, and the combined death of Rohingyas and Arakanese during the riots were reported officially to be less than 30. The Burmese government has been notorious for its transparency when it comes to casualty numbers, but there is no way for the death toll to hit hundreds, far from thousands as seen over the internet. 30 Arakanese who allegedly started the murder of 10 Rohingyas are now facing trials in court.

          Islam is the 3rd most common religion in Burma after Buddhism and Christianity, and this event in Arakan had little to do with other Islamic communities across the country. There has been absolutely no harm to Islams outside of affected areas in Arakan. Islams in other states, including the largest and the most ethnically diverse city, Yangon, have been living normally and peacefully all these times, except at one point when they gathered in downtown Yangon after the government-run news media mentioned in Arakan riots news a term “kalar”, a racially abusive term in Burmese, for which the media immediately issued an apology and made correction.

          In short, there is no such thing as Muslim genocide or ethnic cleansing happening in Burma or in Arakan. And it is painful to see many misleading reports tagging our country’s name in headlines as “Burma Killing”, “Burma Muslim cleansing”, “Stop Burma genocide” when even Islams in Burma regard this very event as nothing more than government suppressing terrorism attacks by Rohingya immigrants.

There is a serious flaw in this argument: there was no Bangladesh in British period, and the whole Arakan and most of Burma was part of the British dynasty. Then came undivided India, then undivided Pakistan, and then Bangladesh. So, even if your assertions are true, do you think Bangladesh and Pakistan should just absorb these people just because they are Muslims? If they lived in Burma for generations, why can’t Burmese government grant them rights? They are culturally different from Bangladeshi people, and speak a very different dialect of Bangla.

          Hi guys, we already wrote so many times that Myanmar Buddhism and Myanmar Muslims are living peacefully in the country, the problem is with Myanmar and Rohingyas (illegal immigrants from Bangladesh) Our Myanmar Muslims friends are also writing the translation that we are living peacefully and fighting back those illegal immigrants foreigners.

          I just found out in many posts and websites that Muslims are being killed and so many people believe that, lol just one question.

          Did you ever hear that Extremely Buddhism Terrorist made Car Bombing and kill many people?? Nope guys, we don’t have it and won’t have it, our religion is different with other religions.

          And for the muslim people, guys, don’t believe that Muslims are killed in Myanmar, after the crisis, the government even protect Rohingyas (the illegal immigrants) and Rakhine people, and make under control the situation, the situation is already under control.

          Just wondering you guys don’t get the translation from our Myanmar Muslim friends?? There are so many people making the comments and translation in Arab (sorry I don’t know how to write arab, but my Myanmar Muslism friends know how to write them) are writing that we are living peacefully.

          Yes I admit that Rohingyas (illegal immigrants) are killed but not 1000 or 10000 people, around 50 people only, Rakhine people also killed, both sides lost many things but Rakhine lost more than Rohingyas because Rohingyas burn down their houses and others.

          You guys can’t see the truth that how Rakhine people suffer because of this case?? Lol, Rakhine suffer more than Rohingya (illegal people) guys. Rohingyas are using the political techniques that by using title “Muslism” to get the attentions from the Islamic country to get the citizenship for them.

          Lol, Myanmar is already a poor country, can’t give the places for them, if you guys feel that those people are pitiful, then why you guys can’t accept them in your countries? Sometimes, I don’t know how to explain, :(

            You keep mentioning that Rohingyas are ‘Illegal immigrants’. Please do a google search with an open mind. Almost all Rohingyas migrated to Arakan state (in Burma) during the British rule when Arakan was part of British India. They did not break any rules because they did not migrate to another country. Later when the British left, the Burmese government refused their citizenship although they had been living there for generations. This is called religious minority prosecution.

          All the peoples in the pictures look like east asians. Rohingya look brown like bangaldeshis and not east asians….

          Ths is a racial conflict, burmese hate rohingyas because they are dark skinned, while burmese tolerate light skinned panthay chinese muslims

      Let me tell you whats happening there – ‘Ethnic Cleansing’ is what they are doing, killing Muslims indiscriminately just because they are muslims, burning people, throwing infants on swords and its all state sponsored. The president of Burma, Thein Sein has said that these people do not belong to Burma and the UN should take them as refugees – the UN has refused. Some tried to escape to Bangladesh to avert senseless killing but Bangladesh refused to take them in and sent them back. According to independent research, these people are the most persecuted on the planet and also the most destitute. They literally have nowhere to go.

      The reason nobody has pictures is because the media is not allowed in but the bodies are washing up on the shores of Bangladesh. If there were, they would also be of mass dead bodies and people burning and infants on swords e.t.c.I have posted some videos below from reputed news channels on the plight of these people.

      Why is it that the Muslim ummah has become so heartless? Wasnt it said that Muslims are like one body, if the hand pains the whole body feels the pain. Why is it that we are more concerned if the pictures are fake or real than with the plight of these Muslims that no one wants to accept?

      I request you Mr. Faraz that instead of wasting your energies on finding if the photos are fake or real and undermining the plight of these people by posting about fake pictures, please raise your voice to the media, muslim leaders, UN and super powers of the world which are all criminally quiet.

    Awesome work. I had very serious doubts when the photos were posted on Facebook citing the massacre of thousands of Muslims in Burma. Several elements were dead giveaways – all the “victims” were faced down as though ordered to do so, the lack of blood and gore commonly associated with massacres, the dubious roles of the soldiers “guarding” so called dead bodies and the photographer’s use of wide angle lens meant that he/she had to be of very close proximity as well as the well composed photo (2/3 frame). Also, the likes of the major wire services, etc. not to have “covered” such an event would be very hard to imagine.

    However all that said, I must commend you on your work/effort. The misuse of pictures for the purpose of misdirection/to incite further hatred is inhumane and nothing short of the lowest kind of misdeed. And the very people who are doing these are in fact an abomination to the Islamic faith, contributing further to public resentment. Hence, your work is truly invaluable to right that which have been wronged.

    We sure need a lot more people like you to help protect our world so that peace may at least have a chance on the interfaiths roundtable.

    By the way, I’m not a Muslim, but I sure appreciate what you’ve done and I do believe a lot of people will too. It will help us all to analyse and know how to sieve out the radicals from the peaceful majority. You’re definitely one who has given Islam a good name in the midst of all the chaos :) – Blessed are the peacemakers…

    Well, this is an eye opener regarding the pictures, however we should still not deviate from the bottom line. The plight of the Rohingyas in Burma needs to be addressed more seriously by the international community. With this new found democracy Burma is perpetuating people have forgotten that Rohingyas have been denied citizenship for years now and they live in deplorable conditions.

      Thanks a lot for the correct information. I don’t understand why people believe wrong information.
      Now a days, there are a lot of pictures on the internet and it can be modified by like photoshop software. Then, they can make easily any caption for these modified photos. It is very simple, even child also can do like that. I really don’t understand why people believe that kind of fake.

      I think he actually means that variety of media are describing fake news, showing these photos. He just wanted to show us that we should not believe every news just by a look.
      He is probably not motivating Muslins or Islamic. Btw, I swear that these figures are not Myanmar people. I am a Buddhist. Peace be with you.

    Thank for the truth. But there are still more truth most of the world don’t know.
    I went to that region personally to help victims. I found out that it is not the religious problem. Both Local Buddhist & Local Muslim were killed by illegal immigrant(they called themselves as Rohingya since about 50 years ago) from a neighborhood country with over 160 Million population(2009) with small land and gonna be in Sea before 2050. So, Rohingya are trying to be the majority & to get citizenship; then they can rule the region officially & later establish a new country. They want support from Muslim all over the world and it is the reason they make fake news.
    There is no religious problem in Myanmar(Burma). Pagodas & mosques can be seen together across the whole country. Please everyone pay a visit to Rakhine State for the truth & real victims before criticize. Local Muslims are also suffering because of Rohingya.
    Anyway, I really appreciate your work on behalf of all Muslim & Buddhist in Myanmar.

      I wish what you say was true about the situation. However, until foreign journalist are allowed access no one can know the truth. What is the reason journalists are not allowed in? So they do not see the burned corpses or the Monks who are BLOCKING food to the Muslims. Or the torture that is going on in the monastries?

      The Rakhine have something to hide otherwise why not allow the journalists to see the truth?

    There might be wrong pictures on the internet with false captions. But noone disagrees to the fact that SLAUGHTERING is being done in Burma. There are many video proofs. Even media on the west has showed the videos as proofs of the massacre in Burma. The pictures might be fake, but the news are true..!!

      It cited one photo posted on a Facebook page originating from Pakistan showing Buddhists dressed in their traditional red robes standing in the middle of two rows of dead bodies, with the caption reading: “Bodies of Muslims killed by Buddhists.”

      In reality, this picture was from an earthquake incident in China in 2010, where Tibetan monks came to help with the rescue efforts, the report said.

      Shahzad Ahmad, the Pakistan country director for the global online activism group called Bytes for All, pointed out that stories of Muslim victimisation around the world are exaggerated in Pakistan by Islamist groups on the Internet.

      “They use such campaigns not only to fund themselves but also to gain more political ground and recruit people for their cause,” the paper quoted Ahmad, as saying.

      “Our research shows that there are many fake photographs being used to propagate [stories of] atrocities against Muslims on many of the Facebook pages which originate from Pakistan,” he added.

    All of the Pictures here which are post to the Social Media were framed in Illegal way, and intentionally in way to create tensions between Muslim and Christians.

    Still there are some linkages which Thai-governments is humiliating our Muslim brothers and sisters. The question If Burma Killed or Thai-killed, do we have difference of These Muslim People in the two Poor Nations…. No No No.. We are Muslim and never be substantiate from other to others, just equal for us.

    If people think something else, it will wise-less regarding to the point of inequality they thought. Muslim is one religion, one faith, one system and one Nations, even though we have many nations with many flags, still we dont respect that we have differences from Nation to others.

    If thailand Regime Killed our brothers we have to react, and if Burma do so, we have to react. If any other Nations Kill our brothers and sisters Muslim, we have to react soonest as possible we could.

    We should understand the ground of our Humanity, and respect our wishes, and not victimize to our great Muslim People. US, Zionist Jew, and Others Western Nation we are on war, that will never stop ever.

      If you read my blog, its all about technology / server management. The reason of writing this post was to tell people that how some people are manipulating the images and posting fake images in name of Burma.

    In June Rohingya Muslin foreigner their origin are from Bangladesh. Bangladesh is over population and near my country border. They stay in my country and they burned local people house and killed local Buddhist people .
    Rohingya parties are creating those images to spread hatred. They create fake image Burma killed Muslin. They liar all Muslim country for stand their side. It’s not about Religion or Race but about Immigration Rule of Law the Border It is of course unacceptable for the Myanmar citizens. Those Rohingyas don’t just come and be peafully live there they rape, kill and burn public hospitals, schools of the Myanmar people (Local Buddhist Rakhine people) Like south Thailand near Malaysia border. My government doesn’t want accept those criminals? Those Rohingya are origin Bangladesh and local ethnics Arakanese(Local Buddhist Rakhine people) are two totally different people. The recent clash is not about religion but about immigration corruption. Just because there are some corrupted officers in the border just like Mexico and US, Thailand and Malaysia, some illegal violinists or terrorists Bengali entered Myanmar and give themselves a name “Rohingya.”Rule of laws will play on that problem. That is the problem of illegal migration and bad immigration officers. Now, the government will try to fix. Some of Muslim parties are I think form Bangladesh are creating those images to spread hatred. They create fake image Burma killed Muslin. The real truth image is come from South Thailand riots Sorry for that.

      I haven’t said that muslims aren’t killed in Burma, what I mean is the images political / religious parties are sharing on social media 99% of these images are fake.

      So I just want to gave a message that please do some research before forwarding anything.

      Again I haven’t said anywhere that Muslims aren’t killed in burma some people are taking idea that by posting all images means muslims aren’t killed in Burma however this expression is wrong.

        I have a lots of Muslim friends in and out sides of Burma. I have grown up, dealing or working and still love them as equally as the other non -Muslim friends i have. Good or bad people could not define by religion, skin and race. I honor you for supporting the truth. Nothing to deny Muslims are discriminated in Burma but we all are. Actually we are still under the military dictatorship and dictator practice divide and rules. Dictator glad when there are conflicts in order to get the reason tolerate the dictatorship. Rohingya affair is immigrant and rule of laws but nothing to do with religion. Rohingya are struggling in the wrong path and they have got wrong approach. Lying to the Muslims around the world to get support make Burmese hate them more. They rather face the truth and claim what they wants. Please take part your role to make more understanding between Rohingya and Burmese.

    There is no mass killings of Muslims in Burma. You guys are spreading the false news. No one believes it. Even local Muslims don’t accept Rohingya or Bengali muslims as citizens.       A simple and a genuine fact – traditionally Tibetans cremate the deceased with prayers said by monks.

      If you can expand your mind, imagine what happens during an earthquake…the quake doesn’t kill people, it is the buildings/houses that collapse and injure/kill.

      Those who died during the Yushu earthquake (crushed under their houses and monasteries) were all cremated as soon as their bodies were recovered from the rubble in order to stop diseases from spreading in the region. A mass cremation was hence essential.

    This is one of the greatest and unique article I’ve ever read related to Muslim in Burma during these day. Why?

    Nowadays, so-called Rohingyas are full fledged refugees recognized by UN and they even get better supports than native poor Arakanese people. And the fact that they are denied citizenship are also wrong. Even so they were migrated, it’s been 3 generations. The Rohingya history books were mastermindedly written during last few decades and campaigned worldwide. There were infamous massacres by migrated Bengalis to native Arakanese people in northern Arakan in 1942 and 1988 to completely replace the native Arkanese villages. The records of mass Bengali replacement to Arakan villages by British and Burmese govs can still be accessed. The people involved in those incidents are still alive and history is still fresh. If still in doubt, think about infamous “direct action day” in east Pakistan. Now the story is up-side-down in international as Arakanese and Burma junta are the ones who bully Rohingyas.

    So, fellow people, please open up your eyes and mind, and see the reality!!

    Well anyone with bit of common sense would know that most pictures posted on social media are fake but the point is there have been killings in Burma.

    Although you have mentioned it but most part of your article is about that pictures are fake and all so many people are getting the impression here that pictures are fake and there are no killings.
    There is just one line and 99% is about fake pictures so majority of people are just looking at that and hardly anyone has noticed that you mentioned that there are killings.You should have written it clearly and prominently because it is more misleading than those fake pictures.

    thank you for sharing this and doing some research on this unauthenticated new going viral these days. I have tried looking at each major news site but found no new whatsoever about such a “supposed” massacre. Even sites like Al-jazeera do not mention remotely anything about Burma and its Muslim massacre.

    There is no doubt that the Burmese Muslim minority has suffered a lot at the hands of the Burmese authorities but showing pictures from elsewhere and labeling them as a massacre for the world to see is irresponsible. Those who share such graphic images should do their due diligence about the authenticity of the images before spreading such news.

We,Myanmar people and government are fine with native Muslim people. But there are massive illegal migrants near Myanmar-Bangladesh border. According to our laws and rules,as do other nations, those illegal migrant can be taken action by laws. The people in your photo are simply illegal migrant who are going back to their native land Bangladesh.

      That is very simple, there are millions of illegal Burmese migrants in Thailand. They come back into Myanmar crossing border when Thai authority are about to take action on them.

        You keep saying that Rohingyas are illegal migrants. Almost all Rohingyas migrated to Arakan state (in Burma) during the British rule when Arakan was part of British India. They have been living there for generations and now you want to deport them to Bangladesh? They did not break any rules because they did not migrate to another country when Burma/Bangladesh/India were all part of British India. Later when the British left, the Burmese government started prosecuting non – Buddhists.

    The truth of happening in burma is not killing Muslims. The truth is, there are illegal immigrant Rohinjas in western Myanmar (illegal immigrants due to weak Myanmar immigration law). Rohinjas are Islamic religious. 3 Rohinjas raped a 16years old Arakan(burmese ethic group) girl started the chaos. The girl’s family and relatives revenged for the death. But in return, many of burmese villages burnt down in 3days and houses in 3major towns burnt down in a week by Rohinjas. During the clash, not more than 50 people died at both side. Except that, the rest of Muslims in other parts of Myanmar are in peace and no harm at all. If u don’t believe what i said, we welcome u to Myanmar to see with your own eyes. And there are lots of Rich Muslims in Myanmar. What President Thein Sein said is ” Not accepting illegal immigrant Rohinjas”. He doesn’t say anything about Muslims or Buddhisms. There are no problem between Muslim and Buddhism. You can contact to Muslim Organization in Myanmar, if u don’t believe. Ps. I know all this bcoz i live in Yangon, Myanmar and i am a self-believer.

In Butheetaung and Maungdaw region, so called Rohingya are 90-95%. In Sittway, 60%.

    There is no crisis in the places where Myanmar majority are living. We Myanmar are living together with Muslim people who are Myanmar citizens.

    You have done a great deed by correcting the lies. We share the grief of Rohingya being persecuted and BURMA. There is little we can do to apply any embargo as it is a close country. The wide spread distortion with FAKE photos will only alienate and incite unnecessary tension. It would DIVIDE the world.

    On 08 June 2012, Illegal Immigrants in MaungTaw Town started attacking the Native Rakhines. In MaungTaw Town, Illegal Immigrants are majority (95%) and Native Rakhines are minority (5%). The riot spreaded to other places and even to Rakhine State Capital, SitTwe City.

    During the riot, both sides lost lives and properties, but more casualities on Natives side as they were unprepared. Police was not able to restore Law and Order in the region. Myanmar Government declared Emergency Situation for Rakhine State and sent troops the calm the situation. Army did opened fires but not to the people, only warning shots into air. Both sides villages and wards were guarded and severely allowed to cross the line.

    VOA of U.S.A. and BBC of U.K. broadcasted false news to fuel the riot. USA and UK considered China as potential rival/enemy and they like to prevent China’s growing power. In Rakhine State, China is building a deep sea port in KyaukPru Town, to get a sea route for western part China, and building gas pipe lines to import gas from Bay of Bangal. Simply USA and UK wanted to make Rakhine State in turmoil so Chinese projects cannot be completed.

    U.K. ruled Rakhine State from 1826 t0 1948, the British well know about this region and had systematic records of polulation and migration. BBC broadcasted against its own government’s archive documents.

    Buddhists, Christians, Hindus and Muslims in other regions of Myanmar were living in peaceful harmony while there was a Racial Conflict in Rakhine. Illegal Immigrant were trying to gain sympathy and support from world Muslims, by propaganding the riot as Religious Crisis. Some Muslims around the worls saw the fake images and news then just shared them without checking original identities.

    In the image of Chinese earth quake vitims, there were marks on bodies because they were digged and pulled out from the collapsed buildings. The dead bodies were stripped as going to be burned. Please not the trenches below the bodies.

    Some Bangalis were imported to Myanmar(Burma) by British during colonial rule, to work in paddy fields. When British retreated from Myanmar in 1942, they gave guns and ammo to Bangalis in Rakhine State, to protect retreating columns. Rakhines welcomed the invading Japanese as they believed that Japs came to help Myanmar for independence. Then armed Bangalis started killing Rakhines and destroyed Rakhine villages in northern Rakhine State. One of the British Government archive said there were over 400 Rakhine villages before 1942 and remained less than 100 in 1946.

    Those Bangalis from northern Rakhine State asked Mr. Muhammad Ali Gina to swallow the region into Pakistan. However Mr. Gina denied and replied that the whole Rakhine State belongs to Myanmar(Burma). Those Bangalis made armed struggle by the name “Mujahid” to set up Rakhine State as their own country, in 1950. The insurgency was crushed by Myanmar Armed Forces.

    Bangalis who migrated to Myanmar before indepedence (04-01-1948) were granted citizenship when Myanmar regained independence. Somemore Bangalis from East Pakistan illegally migrated after 1948, some of them were granted citizenships 1950s by ruling party (AFPFL) to beat the opposition party in Rakhine State.

    Another wave of Bangalis crossed over the border during Pakistan Civil War but did not repatriate when Bangladesh was established. Myanmar Government acknowledged them as Refugees. Their relatives and friends continuouly joined them since 1970s to until present days. Those refugees and their children born in Myanmar soil became stateless. Neither Bangladesh nor Myanmar accept them as citizen.

    Some Bangalis live in west world are masterminding to gain a land from Myanmar by various way. They called themselves “Rohingya”; when we asked the question “what is your race?” to Illegal Immigrants in Rakhine State, they simply answered “Bangali”.

    The Riot in Rakhine States was masterminded by educated Bangalis from west world, by taking advantage of some blind patriotic natives’ unlawful doing to the ten Muslim travellers.

    Riot in Rakhine was a Racial Conflict, NOT Religion Crisis.

Simply USA and UK wanted to make Rakhine State in turmoil so Chinese projects cannot be completed.

    U.K. ruled Rakhine State from 1826 t0 1948, the British well know about this region and had systematic records of polulation and migration. BBC broadcasted against its own government’s archive documents.

    Buddhists, Christians, Hindus and Muslims in other regions of Myanmar were living in peaceful harmony while there was a Racial Conflict in Rakhine. Illegal Immigrant were trying to gain sympathy and support from world Muslims, by propaganding the riot as Religious Crisis. Some Muslims around the worls saw the fake images and news then just shared them without checking original identities.

    In the image of Chinese earth quake vitims, there were marks on bodies because they were digged and pulled out from the collapsed buildings. The dead bodies were stripped as going to be burned. Please not the trenches below the bodies.

    Some Bangalis were imported to Myanmar(Burma) by British during colonial rule, to work in paddy fields. When British retreated from Myanmar in 1942, they gave guns and ammo to Bangalis in Rakhine State, to protect retreating columns. Rakhines welcomed the invading Japanese as they believed that Japs came to help Myanmar for independence. Then armed Bangalis started killing Rakhines and destroyed Rakhine villages in northern Rakhine State. One of the British Government archive said there were over 400 Rakhine villages before 1942 and remained less than 100 in 1946.

    Those Bangalis from northern Rakhine State asked Mr. Muhammad Ali Gina to swallow the region into Pakistan. However Mr. Gina denied and replied that the whole Rakhine State belongs to Myanmar(Burma). Those Bangalis made armed struggle by the name “Mujahid” to set up Rakhine State as their own country, in 1950. The insurgency was crushed by Myanmar Armed Forces.

    Bangalis who migrated to Myanmar before indepedence (04-01-1948) were granted citizenship when Myanmar regained independence. Somemore Bangalis from East Pakistan illegally migrated after 1948, some of them were granted citizenships 1950s by ruling party (AFPFL) to beat the opposition party in Rakhine State.

    Another wave of Bangalis crossed over the border during Pakistan Civil War but did not repatriate when Bangladesh was established. Myanmar Government acknowledged them as Refugees. Their relatives and friends continuouly joined them since 1970s to until present days. Those refugees and their children born in Myanmar soil became stateless. Neither Bangladesh nor Myanmar accept them as citizen.

    Some Bangalis live in west world are masterminding to gain a land from Myanmar by various way. They called themselves “Rohingya”; when we asked the question “what is your race?” to Illegal Immigrants in Rakhine State, they simply answered “Bangali”.

    The Riot in Rakhine States was masterminded by educated Bangalis from west world, by taking advantage of some blind patriotic natives’ unlawful doing to the ten Muslim travellers.

    The Riot in Rakhine State was not a Religion Conflict but a Racial Conflict.

    We, Myanmar people really appreciate all of your researches. Thank you so much again and again for your great trying to prove all realities. According to our President’s speeches, this is not the war and problem between Myanmar Buddhists and Muslims. This is just the illegal immigrants’ problem since long long ago. So I’m just would like to mention that this is not the religious war between Myanmar Buddhists and Muslims. This is just the illegal immigrants from Bengladesh and some of our Myanmar immigration officers’s corruptions to allow illegally enter these Bengalis to Myanmar.
    And I also would like to prove the truth of the topmost photo (The Body of Muslims slaughted by Buddhist, Burma) of this page. Actually you already explained about this photo. Thanks for that. This photo is really from Tibet earthquake disaster. As I am Myanmar Buddhist, I know very well about monk’s the dressing discipline of Therevada Buddhism. This is not the dressing style of Myanmar Buddhist Monks. All Myanmar Buddhist monks are not wearing like that style, except from the color. So I’m strongly recommended that this photo is really fake photo.

    and in my opinion those who made these fake pictures they where actually trying to make the awakening of Burma Massacre WEAKER. They produced and shared some fake pictures so that sooner or later somebody will find them as “Fake” (as you did) and the movement will collapse as a result. and they may have started these as soon as the news broke out.
    There is one more possibility that those who just need there business to grow no matter what happens may have done this.

    Good work bro…Those photos are not from Myanmar we all can say that. People with a little bit of knowledge on google image search can say that as well.

    But it doesn’t mean there is no killing/no discrimination towards Muslim in Myanmar. Burmese/ Buddhist people (at least majority of them) have mentality which discriminate non Myanmar or Buddhist. They don’t like their ethnic minorities either but when it comes to religion they become extreme. Not only normal people, also Monks become extremists. Earlier in 2012, Buddhist people destroyed Mosque.

    I am sure in Rakhine, some Bengali people terrorise the towns and villages, but as well as Rakhine ethnic people. They also have destroyed many muslim village and mosques. The problem is Myanmar Media, they never write about Muslim side.

    Think about it. Do you really believe that only Rakhine people are killed? or only Rohingya are killed. Both sides have killed/died. In Myanmar, people are told how Bad Rohingya people are. And the world media is told how Cruel Rakhine people are.
    When Rohingya people can not show the evidence, they are starting to make fake photos. They have no chance to take photos or video during the riot. Most of them are poor, and they are contained by Burmese military and Rakhine extremist.

    I think this is just their desperate attempts to get attention from the World. Eventhough, photos are fake, their suffering is real. Suffering for both Rakhine ethnic people and Rohingya.

    19. Nay! The disbelievers (persisted) in denying (Prophet Muhammad () and his Message of Islamic Monotheism).

    20. And Allah encompasses them from behind! (i.e. all their deeds are within His Knowledge, and He will requite them for their deeds).

    Good Effort. It is very important that we verify all the information before reacting. Apart from these i have seen many fake news, one of them was Apple Store in New york. During its construction some pictures were taken and Muslim have called it is a Kaaba Bar which Americans are making, but nothing like that.       Iam Muslim Alhamdulillah,

      I haven’t said anywhere that Muslims are not killed in Burma. However I only highlighted issue that there are some political / religious parties who are manipulating images and spreading wrong images in name of Muslims Killing in Burma.
      They are doing all that for political gain Iam also against killings of Muslims in burma but consider reading facts instead of beliving in fake news and images.
      Daily I use to see images having captions like 10,000 killed today, 40,000 killed today. There is no such level massacre happening.
      The only objective of writing that blog was to spread awareness that instead of believing what social media is telling you do some research and do not spread knowledge without verifying it.

    When I first saw the fake photos, I was shocked not by the deaths, but by the pictures how people can do such provocative activities by publishing false photo and information because I know the photos of the dead people and the monks standing near was during the earthquake hit in Kegyudo in our Tibet. Moreover you can easily differentiate between a Tibetan monk to a Burmese monk just by looking at the way they wear the rob.
    Before I finish my comment I must add here that brother, you are a real 21st century Muslim, open minded. I request you to be like that in your life come what may. You may get criticism in your quest for a truthful life, but you never get disheartened because you will get more contented life which will not only help you in this life, but you are also accumulating a good KARMA for yourself for your next life as well.
    The sad thing of the result of the fake photo is that a Tibetan youth in south India was stabbed by some Muslim youths just because he was a Buddhist. How sad!!!!

    This is excellent work, Brother . Both the sides Rohingyas and Rakhines are killing each other if one look into reports. Even Aljazeera did not report 20,000 or even 2,000 Muslim killings in Burma but social media is reporting that. What is happening must not happen but social media surely should not increase the violence by fake images when the reality from human aspect is much worst.
